Public Practice Experience Required

Peter Wu & Associates Ltd. (PWAL) is a growing CPA firm that supports small and medium-sized business owners with their corporate and personal accounting and tax needs. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis, with an immediate start available.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients and assist with accounting, tax, payroll, and related compliance matters. Our clients operate in a variety of industries, including healthcare, real estate, professional services, and technology.

Responsibilities

- Prepare non-audit corporate year-end files and compilation engagements
- Prepare T2 corporate tax returns and T1 personal tax returns
- Prepare T4, T4A, and T5 information returns
- Perform bookkeeping and payroll-related work
- Prepare and file GST, PST, EHT, WCB, ROE, and other required filings
- Assist with CRA correspondence and client support
- Review and manage client files in a paperless environment
- Use QuickBooks Online, Caseware ReviewComp Cloud,



and Caseware Desktop
- Build and maintain positive client relationships

Requirements

- Minimum three years of Canadian public practice experience
- Hands-on experience with compilation engagements, bookkeeping, T2 corporate tax returns, and T1 personal tax returns
- Experience using QuickBooks Online, professional tax software, and Caseware is required
- Comfortable working in a cloud-based, paperless environment and communicating electronically with clients
- Strong communication skills, accountability, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to help others
- Positive attitude, adaptable, quick to learn, and able to work well with clients and team members
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and develop professionally
- Mandarin language skills are an asset

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
