The Role

As a Server at Melani, you will report to the Floor Managers and General Manager, delivering warm, polished, and efficient table service. You will guide guests through menu selections and daily specials, take accurate orders, execute seamless table maintenance, operate POS terminals, manage guest billing, and collaborate with support staff to ensure every guest enjoys an unforgettable dining experience.

What You’ll Do

- Deliver Warm & Prompt Guest Service: Welcome guests warmly, explain daily specials, articulate dish ingredients and preparation techniques, and take orders with precision.
- Master Menu & Beverage Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of our Greek culinary offerings,



dietary accommodations, cocktail list, and Mediterranean wine pairings.
- Execute Table Maintenance & Service Flow: Set tables accurately, deliver food with correct accompaniments, perform continuous table clearing/crumb-down, and maintain clean floor sections throughout service.
- Manage Billing & POS Transactions: Process orders accurately in the POS system, present guest bills, and handle cash, credit, and gift card payments in accordance with house financial procedures.
- Collaborate & Complete Side Duties: Assist team members with running food/drinks, perform assigned opening, running, and closing side duties, and uphold all restaurant policies and cleanliness standards.

What We’re Looking For

- Serving Experience & Credentials: 1+ years of serving experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, or upscale dining environment. Valid Smart Serve Certification is required (Food Handler Certification and wine knowledge are considered strong assets).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency operating modern Point of Sale (POS) systems and balancing food and beverage service trays smoothly.
- Interpersonal & Professional Demeanor: Exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic, a positive team attitude, and the ability to remain calm and polished under peak service pressure.
- Availability & Location: Flexibility to work dynamic shift schedules. Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Toronto, ON.
- Physical Capabilities:



Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during busy shifts and comfortably carry and balance food and beverage service trays.
