Job Overview
Ensures production schedules are followed and met and products meet customer requirements, and organizational and legislative specifications by assisting production staff in the operation of all production equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
Duties:
- Receives work schedule from Production Supervisor and checks touch screen for orders, including, but not limited to, production time-frame, production specifications including size, weight, and quantities required; in order to ensure jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner;
- Follows the schedule and set up the slitting machine in accordance with the job specifications; reviews details of touch screen, PDF schematic and sample slit position to ensure there are no variances; removes defective print, lamination, and flagged material. checks schedule and ensures appropriate WIP rolls are ready for reloading slitter; ensures machine is continually running at maximum speed and correct materials have been delivered by comparing to touch screen specifics;
- Ensures the quality and specifications of material are met, at every roll change; checks print and lamination quality on a regular basis throughout the production run to ensure they meet quality and job specification requirements and standard; performs product quality checks after new set up and at regular intervals thereafter to ensure job specifications are being met;
- Performs minor maintenance and repairs within own scope of expertise and advises Production Supervisor of any repairs required that are outside own area of expertise in a timely manner;
- Trains new slitter operators on all aspects of job duties including operation of all related equipment, in a timely and accurate;
- Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly manner by sweeping the floor around the equipment and emptying garbage on a daily basis; performs all other housekeeping duties as required to maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to Housekeeping checklist;
- Operates Reach Truck and Lifting equipment in a safe manner in order to ensure finished product is placed in stock using the appropriate stock rotation process;
- Adheres to all Quality and Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times, immediately reporting any issues to Production Supervisor;
- Assists in the shipping/receiving/order picking areas on an as needed basis;
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum High School graduation.
- Minimum 1 (one) years’ related experience in a related role preferred, but not essential
- Possession of a current operating license for Raymond Reach Truck or equivalent a definite asset
- Excellent ability to multi-task with valuable organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment which includes shift changes and product variation
- Good knowledge of how production processes effect the quality of product
- Basic mechanical aptitude in order to perform simple repairs and maintenance
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Ability to work under moderate pressure in order to meet tight deadlines imposed by circumstances beyond own control
- Team player able to relate with all levels of staff
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
