Our client in the Oil & Gas Services sector is seeking a Data Control Coordinator to join their Calgary team on a long-term contract basis. This role combines accounting knowledge and technical problem-solving to investigate settlement discrepancies, resolve data issues, and support accurate financial processing.

Responsibilities:
Review incoming service tickets, assess requests, and determine appropriate actions to resolve settlement and data issues.
Investigate bulk retail and accounts receivable settlement discrepancies across multiple systems.
Perform reconciliations to verify transaction accuracy and ensure records are complete and balanced.
Validate settlement data across a large portfolio of transactions.
Identify root causes of irregularities, resolve issues, and escalate where necessary.
Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate resolutions and provide updates on outstanding issues.
Analyze large datasets using business systems and reporting tools to identify exceptions and improve data controls.
Support system troubleshooting and business systems improvement initiatives.
Document findings, resolutions, and recurring issues to support consistent processes and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in data control, accounting support, business systems, or technical operations; strong entry-level technical candidates may also be considered.
Knowledge of accounts receivable, settlements, reconciliations, and basic accounting principles.
Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and managing large datasets.
Experience with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Confluence.
Familiarity with J.D. Edwards, SQL, Python,



or scripting is a solid asset.
Ability to investigate discrepancies across multiple systems, analyze financial data, and resolve issues.
Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
