Duties

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies tailored to manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WSIB requirements, Ministry of Labor regulations, and other applicable legislation.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all production areas to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead engaging training sessions on safety procedures, proper equipment uses, and emergency response protocols to ensure staff are well-informed and prepared.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety violations thoroughly, documenting findings and implementing preventative measures.
- Collaborate with management to establish safety goals, monitor compliance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, incident reports,



and regulatory documentation for audit purposes.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness through communication campaigns, signage, and team engagement activities.

Skills

- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, or a related field.
- JHSC Certification required.
- CRSP, CRST, NCSO, or equivalent skilled designation considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of industry-specific safety standards.
- Excellent training & development skills to effectively educate diverse teams on safety best practices.
- 3-5 years of Health & Safety experience, preferably within a Manufacturing facility
- Strong analytical abilities for conducting risk assessments and incident investigations. WSIB claims and return-to-work programs.
- Effective communication skills to clearly convey safety policies and foster open dialogue about hazards.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant health & safety regulations and certification requirements (e.g., OSHA standards).

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
