Construction Market Inc. is a Toronto-based startup that helps residential construction professionals win new work in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas.
About the role
We're hiring Field Outreach Representatives to visit active residential building sites across the GTA and record accurate details about each one, and introduce Construction Market to the people running them. Accuracy and professionalism are the whole job: the data you collect is crucial and you are the first face of the company. You will report to Sales in this position.
This suits someone who likes working outdoors, drives, pays attention to detail, finds it easy to talk to people, and wants to join an early-stage company on the ground floor.
Key responsibilities
- Travel to your assigned areas across the GTA and find active residential building sites.
- Record accurate details for each site, including its address and relevant information.
- Be the in-person face of Construction Market: introduce the company, and share company materials, with site foremen, project managers and site supervisors.
- Give a short, explicit pitch to the people who make decisions on each site, to generate interest.
- Keep accurate records of every visit and conversation,
submit them on time, and pass promising conversations to our team.
- Flag anything unclear instead of guessing.
- Share feedback that helps us improve our process.
Qualifications
Required
- Your own reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence. This is a driving role, and public transit won't work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
- Confident and personable: comfortable approaching site foremen and supervisors and starting a conversation.
- Careful and accurate with attention to details.
- Dependable, and able to manage your own time within weekday daytime hours.
- Comfortable using a smartphone and mobile apps.
- Clear spoken and written English, including short, accurate notes.
Preferred
- Experience in sales, promotions or other customer-facing work.
- A background in construction or trades is a great asset.
- Good knowledge of GTA neighbourhoods.
No construction experience needed if you're accurate, dependable and quick to learn.
