Ready to take your electrical experience off the tools?

ICS designs, installs, and services building automation and controls systems for commercial and institutional buildings across Manitoba. We're looking for someone with a commercial electrical background to join our sales team and train as an estimator.

You don't need controls experience. We'll teach you the building automation side. What we can't teach is how a commercial job actually goes together in the field, and that's what you'd bring.

What you'll do

- Review tender packages, drawings, and specifications for commercial and institutional projects
- Perform quantity takeoffs from PDF drawings: devices, equipment, panels, wiring
- Track addenda and make sure changes get captured in the bid
- Identify scope gaps and unclear items between the mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings, and flag them before they become problems




- Prepare bid pricing for review and final sign-off by the Sales Manager
- Over time, brief our project team on the jobs you've bid when we win them

What we're looking for

- Commercial electrical experience, as a journeyperson, an apprentice, or in a related role
- Comfortable reading commercial drawings and specs
- Basic computer skills: email, PDFs, and willingness to learn spreadsheets and estimating software
- Trainable. You want to learn and you take coaching well
- Honest. You'll say "I'm not sure" rather than guess. In estimating, that matters more than anything
- Hardworking, and a fit with the values above

Nice to have

- Working knowledge of commercial mechanical systems such as HVAC, air handlers, boilers, and chillers

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
