Overview

Reporting to the Chief and Council, this position will provide overall leadership for the implementation and delivery of programs and services for the benefit of the membership and community while managing the day-to-day administrative, financial, and operational affairs within the band office.

- Must have a valid MB Driver’s License, Driver’s abstract and a reliable vehicle required.
- Must have a clean criminal record check

Responsibilities

- Provide proper financial management of KOFN’s funding
- Oversee community services such as housing, public works, education, and social programs
- Liaise with external government bodies.
- Maintain internal control and preparation of regular financial reports and budgets
- Manage band office staff and maintain the overall flow of the office
- Manage agreements and relationships with levels of government
- Provide a service-oriented relationship between the community and the administration
- Keep community members informed and up-to date on issues and activities and develop working relationships with community

Experience





- Must have a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, or another applicable field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior management role, ideally within a First Nation
- Experience in band management/administration would be preferred
- Full competency in governance and legislation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise between Chief and Council, staff and community members
- Strong financial acuity and understanding of accounting principles including budget management, tracking and reporting
- Strong leadership skills
- Robust technical proficiency including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and financial software.

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
