Job Description

Position Objective

Nossack Fine Meats is seeking a qualified, hands-on Electrician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our production facility and distribution centre.

The primary focus of this position is electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance of industrial electrical systems and production equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with our Millwright and production team to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently.

In addition to electrical duties, this position will involve assisting with mechanical maintenance, equipment repairs, and general facility maintenance as required. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys problem-solving, and is willing to contribute to the overall upkeep and operation of a busy industrial facility.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities – Electrical

- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install industrial electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, controls, switches, lighting, receptacles, panels, and related components.
- Diagnose electrical faults and troubleshoot industrial control systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.




- Test electrical equipment and components using appropriate testing instruments to verify safe and proper operation.
- Perform preventative electrical maintenance to reduce equipment failures and production downtime.
- Assist with electrical installations, equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements.
- Identify potential electrical hazards and equipment issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed electrical work.

Additional Responsibilities – Industrial and Facility Maintenance

- Work alongside and assist the Millwright with mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of motors, pumps, conveyors, and other production machinery.
- Respond to maintenance requests from production and distribution operations.
- Assist with general building and facility maintenance, including doors, dock equipment, fixtures, walls, floors, and other facility components.
- Assist with minor plumbing-related repairs and general upkeep as required.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns and opportunities to improve equipment reliability and facility operations.




- Perform other related maintenance and repair duties as required.

Qualifications

- Journeyman Electrician certification required.
- Industrial electrical experience is a strong asset.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, and production equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices, applicable codes, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to assist with mechanical repairs and general maintenance tasks.
- Experience in a manufacturing, food-processing, warehouse, or distribution environment is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with maintenance and production teams.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to assist with additional maintenance duties outside the primary electrical role.
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent is generally expected.

Candidates with relevant electrical experience and a combination of industrial maintenance skills may also be considered.
