We are currently seeking a Senior Drafting Technician to join our team at our head office in Blumenort, Manitoba.

Reporting to the Drafting Manager, the Senior Drafting Technician is responsible for producing advanced architectural and construction drawings, ensuring technical accuracy, and maintaining drafting standards across agricultural and commercial building projects. This role serves as a technical resource to the drafting team by conducting quality reviews, providing mentorship and training to junior staff, and supporting the consistent application of drafting standards.

The successful candidate will work independently on complex drafting assignments, contribute technical expertise informed by structural engineering principles, and collaborate with project teams to support the successful delivery of projects

What you'll do:

- Preparation of – primarily - detailed construction drawings in accordance with company standards, applicable codes and regulations.
- Conduct quality control reviews of drawings prepared by the junior drafting team members, including preliminary, shop, pricing, permit, and construction drawing sets as applicable. Identify errors, omissions, and coordination issues, and provide clear feedback.
- Provide technical mentorship, training,



and guidance to junior drafters through instruction, feedback, and review of assigned work.
- Produce complex 2D and 3D models using Revit and TwinMotion, or comparable rendering software, ensuring high-quality visual and technical output.
- Ensure drawings reflect applicable National Building Code requirements, municipal bylaws, and project-specific requirements, and raise compliance questions when specialist input is needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process to support project requirements and coordination.
- Participate in client design meetings to support design intent, clarify requirements, and incorporate feedback.
- Conduct occasional site visits to gather field information, verify conditions, or support project coordination.
- Maintain organized drawing files, documentation, and version control in accordance with company protocols.
- Contribute to the development, improvement, and consistent application of drafting standards, templates, and workflows.

What we're looking for:

- Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent education and practical experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit.




- At least 5 years of drafting experience in architectural, construction, or related environments.
- Strong understanding of Canadian construction methods and practices, particularly for agricultural and commercial projects is an asset.
- Experience preparing drawings for permits and construction submissions.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to mentor and train junior drafting staff, provide constructive technical feedback, and perform thorough quality control reviews.
- Ability to interpret and apply the National Building Code and municipal bylaws and recognize when qualified professional input is required.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work, with technical input informed by structural engineering principles.
- Experience with Twinmotion or similar 3D rendering software.
- Familiarity with Autodesk, Bluebeam, or other relevant industry tools.

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
