About the Role

Norwich Packers Ltd. is looking for a dependable, hands-on Meat Packaging Manager to oversee our packaging department. This person will lead the team, organize daily work, and ensure meat products are packaged, labelled, and prepared for shipment accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Supervise packaging staff and assign daily duties to meet production schedules.
- Work alongside the team to keep orders moving and completed on time.
- Ensure products are properly weighed, sealed, labelled, and boxed to customer specifications.
- Check packaging quality, including vacuum seals, product appearance, dates, and lot codes.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Coordinate with processing, shipping, and management to prioritize orders.
- Train employees, monitor performance, and address problems promptly.
- Monitor packaging supplies and minimize waste, damaged packaging, and rework.




- Ensure required production and traceability records are completed accurately.
- Maintain an organized work area and ensure equipment issues are reported promptly.

Qualifications

- Experience in meat packaging, food processing, or a similar production workplace.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to give clear direction and hold employees accountable.
- Familiarity with vacuum packaging equipment, scales, and labelling systems is an asset.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment and perform physical duties safely.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to meet production demands.
