About Hoops Life:
Hoops Life is a dynamic basketball program designed to teach life skills, foster personal growth, and build confidence among youth. Our program combines the fundamentals of basketball with essential life lessons, focusing on teamwork, resilience, leadership, and effective communication. We aim to create a positive environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun on and off the court.

Job Summary:
The Life Skills Facilitator will lead and support the Hoops Life basketball program, promoting the development of both basketball skills and important life skills among participants. This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating engaging activities and lessons that teach basketball fundamentals while integrating valuable life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Program Facilitation: Plan and deliver engaging basketball training sessions that incorporate life skills lessons, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants.
- Skill Development: Teach basketball fundamentals, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork, while emphasizing the importance of perseverance, respect, and communication.
- Life Skills Instruction: Follow the Hoops Life skills curriculum that complements basketball training, focusing on topics such as goal setting, teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
- Monitoring Progress: Assess each participant’s development in both basketball skills and life skills, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Encouragement and Support: Foster positive relationships with participants, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among peers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other facilitators,



staff, and volunteers to ensure a cohesive program experience and effective communication.
- Safety Oversight: Ensure a secure and welcoming environment for all participants, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Community Engagement: Actively engage with parents and the community to promote the program and encourage participation.
- Evaluation and Improvement: Gather feedback from participants and parents and make recommendations for program enhancements.

Qualifications:

- Experience working with children or youth, preferably in a sports or educational setting.
- Strong background and knowledge of basketball fundamentals.
- Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and teaching.
- Ability to create a positive, motivating, and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities and tasks.
- A degree or certification in education, sports management, youth development, or a related field is an asset, but not required.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
