Job Summary

West Coast Billiards is a small custom shop building high-end pool tables, shuffleboards, ping-pong tables and other custom game-room furniture.

We’re looking for a reliable, full time shop assistant who is comfortable working with tools and enjoys building things efficiently and accurately. Most of our parts are cut from plywood and hardwood using a CNC router. The work involves taking those parts through glue-up, assembly, routing, roundovers, sanding and final preparation.

You do not need to be a journeyman cabinetmaker or high-end furniture maker. We need someone practical, dependable and detail-oriented who can follow a process, think ahead and avoid unnecessary mistakes.

Duties

- Strip, sort and organize parts after they are cut on the CNC
- Complete plywood and hardwood glue-ups
- Assemble pool-table components and other custom products
- Use routers, sanders, drills and other hand and power tools
- Complete roundovers, sanding and general part preparation
- Build smaller products such as pool-ball triangles and accessories
- Read basic shop drawings, measurements and part labels
- Check measurements and completed work for accuracy
- Handle plywood sheets,



materials and assembled components safely
- Keep the shop and work areas organized
- Plan work efficiently and look for better ways to complete repetitive tasks
- Assist with CNC setup and operation once trained

Qualifications

- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Some woodworking, cabinet-shop, fabrication or manufacturing experience
- Comfortable measuring, assembling and working accurately
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Able to think through a job and organize work efficiently
- Careful about details and willing to double-check work
- Comfortable with physical shop work and handling sheet goods
- CNC-router or sheet-goods experience is an asset but not required
- Reliable transportation is important because the shop is near the Maple Ridge–Mission border

Position Details

- Full-time, on-site position
- Starting immediately
- $26–$29 per hour, depending on experience
- Location: 28340 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC

Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
