Welder Fabricator

We are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join our metal fabrication shop in North Vancouver, BC.

The ideal candidate should have good fabrication and welding skills, be comfortable working from drawings and sketches, and have experience with layout, fitting, and fabrication of metal components.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret fabrication and structural drawings, shop drawings, and sketches
- Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components
- Fabricate structural and miscellaneous metal assemblies
- MIG/FCAW/Stick welding of mild steel
- Aluminum fabrication and welding as required
- Use shop equipment and fabrication tools safely and efficiently
- Perform accurate fitting and assembly before welding
- Maintain good weld quality and dimensional accuracy
- Assist with installation and field work when required
- Work independently as well as part of a team

Requirements

- Strong metal fabrication and fitting skills




- Ability to read drawings and fabricate directly from them
- Good welding skills and knowledge of proper welding procedures
- Experience with aluminum welding is an asset
- Comfortable using grinders, saws, drills, ironworking and general fabrication equipment
- Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, levels and other measuring tools
- Good understanding of fabrication tolerances and fit-up
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Able to perform physically demanding fabrication work

CWB welding certification is an asset, but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time - Part time
