Apply enforcement, prevention, and intervention skills as a full-time Community Safety Officer with the City of Thompson. Serve Thompson’s Downtown area through public education and collaborative enforcement.

The City of Thompson is seeking two Community Safety Officers to enforce Council bylaws and appointed statutes. You will work cooperatively with the RCMP and stakeholders while responding to community concerns. The position combines patrols, complaint resolution, public communication, and legal documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct patrols throughout the community and Downtown area
- Investigate and respond to bylaw complaints
- Resolve concerns through education, redirection, or ticketing
- Prepare notices, summonses, and other legal documents




- Maintain confidential documents and files

Requirements:

- Superior interpersonal skills and effective conflict resolution
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Professional manner under stressful public conditions
- Knowledge of homelessness, addictions, and crime prevention issues
- Understanding of social roots of crime and community resources
