We are currently seeking a Junior Drafting Technician to join our team at our head office in Blumenort, Manitoba.

The Junior Drafting Technician supports Penfor Construction's design-build teams by preparing preliminary drawing packages, shop drawings, and pricing sets for agricultural and commercial building projects. This is a developmental position intended for an individual who is looking to build their drafting expertise and expand their knowledge of construction design and documentation.

Reporting to the Drafting Manager, the successful candidate will receive technical guidance and mentorship from a Senior Drafter while contributing to a variety of projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills, gain hands-on experience in the construction industry, and grow within a team-oriented team environment.

What you'll do:

- Prepare and revise preliminary drawing sets for review and development by the internal design-build team.
- Produce shop drawings and pricing drawing sets to support estimating, project management, and other internal teams.
- Use Revit and other applicable drafting or visualization software to develop drawings and 3D models as required (experience in TwinMotion is considered an asset).
- Incorporate feedback and revisions from the Senior Drafter, Drafting Manager, designers, project managers, and other team members.
- Ask questions, seek clarification, and communicate progress, issues,



and potential conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
- Organize and manage assigned drafting tasks, adjusting priorities in coordination with the Drafting Manager.
- Build knowledge of construction methods, building components, applicable codes, and project requirements through assigned work and mentorship.
- Participate in internal design and project coordination meetings as needed and attend occasional site visits when required.
- As skills and performance develop, take on more complex drafting tasks and additional responsibilities, which may eventually include construction drawing sets and coordination of engineered drawings.

What we're looking for:

- Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent education/experience
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Revit, or a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn it.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, organized work.
- Good organization, time management, and ability to manage assigned tasks and deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication and willingness to ask questions and respond constructively to feedback.
- An interest in learning Canadian construction methods and practices, particularly for agricultural and commercial buildings.

Pay: $24.00 per hour
