Licensed Building Maintenance Specialist

Full-Time, Permanent | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Licensed Building Maintenance Specialist for an established and growing Canadian manufacturer in the Windsor-Essex area. This is a permanent day-shift opportunity for an experienced trades professional who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance across a variety of building and plant systems.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Full-time, permanent
- Some on-call, evening, weekend and emergency maintenance may be required
- Overtime available

What You'll Do

- Handle preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance across the building and facility
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building systems within your qualifications
- Inspect equipment, buildings and utility systems and identify needed repairs
- Work with industrial boilers, high-pressure steam systems, chillers and refrigeration systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and air handling equipment, pumps, motors, valves, piping and compressed air systems within your training and qualifications
- Work with electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing and water systems, fire protection and building controls
- Handle general building repairs involving doors, hardware, fixtures, walls, ceilings, floors and other facility components
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and facility emergencies
- Complete preventative maintenance and troubleshoot recurring problems
- Help with renovations, equipment installations, utility shutdowns/start-ups and facility improvement projects
- Work with outside contractors when specialized support is needed
- Complete work orders, maintenance records and inspection documentation
- Follow GMP,



lockout/tagout and other required safety procedures

What We're Looking For

- 3-5 years of relevant industrial, manufacturing, commercial, institutional, facilities or building maintenance experience
- A recognized trade licence, certificate or relevant technical qualification
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with building systems and/or industrial utilities
- Comfortable reading technical manuals, drawings, schematics and equipment documentation
- A good understanding of preventative maintenance
- Able to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Comfortable handling changing priorities in a busy manufacturing environment

Relevant Licences & Certifications

You don't need all of these. We're looking for someone with a relevant trade or technical qualification, solid hands-on maintenance experience and the ability to work across a variety of building and facility systems.

Your qualifications might include:

- 306A - Plumber
- 309A - Construction & Maintenance Electrician
- 442A - Industrial Electrician
- 433A - Industrial Mechanic Millwright
- 313A - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
- G2 - Gas Technician
- Building Environmental Systems (BES) certification
- Operating Engineer / Fourth Class Power Engineer
- Another directly relevant Canadian skilled trade, HVAC/R or facilities qualification

Industrial Experience Is an Asset

Manufacturing or industrial experience is strongly preferred, especially if you've worked with systems such as:

- Industrial boilers and boiler-room systems
- High-pressure steam systems




- Central refrigeration and chillers
- HVAC and air handling units
- Pumps, motors, valves and piping
- Compressed air systems
- Industrial electrical distribution
- Plumbing and water systems
- Fire protection systems
- Building automation or energy management systems

You don't need experience with every system on this list. Relevant commercial, institutional, building or facilities maintenance experience will also be considered.
