Kidco Construction is a Calgary-based civil construction company specializing in earthworks, underground utility installation, basement excavation, and trucking. Our shop repairs and maintains a fleet of over 500 pieces of off-road equipment. We are seeking a qualified, safety-focused Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) to join our team of shop mechanics.

What You'll Do

- Diagnose and repair heavy earthmoving equipment, including dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, packers, rock trucks, scrapers, and skid steers
- Handle major repairs to get critical equipment back to work
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, hydraulics, powertrains, electrical systems, and undercarriage
- Use diagnostic software such as CAT SIS, CAT ET, and John Deere Service Advisor to find faults and guide repairs
- Complete work orders and service records accurately
- Follow all company safety policies and keep the shop clean, organized, and safe

What You Bring

- Certified Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) ticket
- 5+ years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment
- Hands-on experience with CAT, Komatsu, and John Deere equipment
- Experience with CAT SIS, CAT ET, and John Deere Service Advisor
- Legally allowed to work in Canada




- Valid Class 5 licence with air endorsement and a clean driver's abstract
- Your own reliable vehicle
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort handling major repairs in a quick-paced shop
- Ability to work on your own or as part of a team

Schedule (approximate):

- March to October: typically 10 hours Monday–Friday, 8 hours Saturday
- November to February: typically 8 hours Monday–Friday, 5 hours Saturday
- Additional overtime is required based on demand

What We Offer

- Wage: $40 to $60 per hour, based on experience
- Overtime pay: After 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week
