English Teacher – Part-Time (Sundays)

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Sundays, 8:45 a.m.–2:15 p.m. (5.5 paid hours)
Contract: January 10 – June 13, 2027
Location: 4781 Van Horne Avenue, Suite 206, Montréal (next to Plamondon Metro)

About Us

Valiquette Academy is an educational programme of the Valiquette Foundation, a registered Canadian charity dedicated to helping children achieve their full academic and personal potential.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and dependable English Teacher who enjoys working with children and making learning engaging, interactive and rewarding.

Teaching Schedule

The teacher will lead three 90-minute classes each Sunday, with students grouped according to grade level and ability.

- 9:00–10:30 a.m. – Group 1
- 10:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m. – Group 2
- 12:45–2:15 p.m. – Group 3

Arrival is required at 8:45 a.m. to prepare for classes. The full 5.5-hour period, including breaks, is paid.

The Director will initially teach alongside the successful candidate, providing mentorship and support before the teacher gradually assumes responsibility for their own classes.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate English lessons.
- Develop students' reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension skills.
- Create a positive, encouraging and enjoyable classroom environment.
- Adapt instruction to students' different learning abilities.




- Monitor student progress and provide individual assistance when needed.

Qualifications

- Experience teaching or tutoring English is preferred.
- University students studying education, English or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Strong English communication and classroom management skills.
- Patient, energetic, creative and dependable.
- Genuine enjoyment of working with children.
- Commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally.
