Job Overview

The Truck and Trailer Mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs trucks, trailers, and related equipment. This hands-on role uses mechanical knowledge, hand and power tools, and schematics to diagnose issues and complete dependable repairs. Your work helps customers and colleagues keep equipment safe, functional, and ready for use.

Duties

- Inspect vehicles and equipment, identify mechanical or electrical faults, and determine appropriate repairs.
- Perform automotive repair, maintenance, welding, and assembly using hand tools and power tools.
- Service truck and trailer systems, including HVAC, and support repairs to industrial equipment and farm machinery.
- Safely handle heavy lifting and operate or service equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and Caterpillar machinery.

Experience

Required:



Practical mechanical knowledge and the ability to use hand and power tools, interpret schematics, perform maintenance, and complete repairs safely. Electrical experience and sound judgment support accurate diagnosis and quality work. Preferred: Mechanic experience, automotive repair, welding, HVAC, and familiarity with heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or farm machinery. Dealership experience, customer service skills, equipment assembly, and experience with forklifts, excavators, cranes, or Caterpillar equipment are advantageous.

Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
