Home Support Assistant needed for a young man in Oshawa to assist him in all areas of daily living. The Support Assistant will be helping this young man to develop and grow in ordinary ways within his own home and community that are guided by his passions, interests, gifts and talents. The Support Worker will be working within a team of other supporters who envision the best life possible for this young man, and are able to see beyond the challenges that he faces each day.

We are seeking individuals who are calm and patient, positive, non judgemental, and confident in their abilities to overcome and solve problems when challenges arise. Empathy is a must for this role, as well as, thinking outside of the box. This young man communicates without using words and it is key to be able to understand nonverbal cues and facial expressions when supporting him.

Assisting this young man in his volunteer roles within his community will be part of the support role, as well as,



working on various arts and crafts within his home.

If you are passionate about caring for and supporting others, this opportunity may be for you. This is an Independent Contract position, therefore will not be helpful in aquiring PR status in Canada.

24-36 hours per week @ $24.00 per hour.

- Valid Ontario Drivers License and vehicle are required
- Must have weekend availability (every other weekend)
