Mianco Environmental Inc. is looking for an experienced Hydrovac / Combination Flusher Operator to join our growing environmental and infrastructure services team.
We are looking for a reliable, experienced operator who can safely operate a hydrovac/combination vacuum truck for hydro excavation, sewer and catch basin cleaning, flushing, vacuum work, and related environmental and infrastructure services.
This is a full-time position with year-round work and opportunities for overtime.
Responsibilities
Operate hydrovac and combination vacuum/flusher trucks safely and efficiently
Perform hydro excavation around existing utilities and infrastructure
Perform sewer, storm and catch basin flushing and cleaningVacuum water, mud, slurry, debris and other materials
Operate high-pressure water systems, vacuum systems, hoses and related equipment
Transport and properly dispose of collected materials at approved facilities
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Maintain accurate daily logs, tickets and required documentation
Perform basic preventative maintenance and identify mechanical issues before they become major problems
Keep the truck, hoses, tools and equipment clean and properly maintained
Set up work areas and assist with traffic control where required
Work safely around utilities, excavations, heavy equipment and active construction sites
Communicate with supervisors, customers and other crew members
Follow Mianco safety procedures and applicable regulations
Assist with other environmental or infrastructure work when required
Requirements:
Valid DZ driver's licence or higher
Clean or acceptable driver's abstract
Previous experience operating a hydrovac, combination flusher/vac truck or similar equipment
Experience with hydro excavation and/or sewer flushing strongly preferred
Comfortable operating both vacuum and high-pressure water systems
Good understanding of truck inspections and basic maintenance
Able to work independently without constant supervision
Physically capable of handling hoses, fittings and related equipment
Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Flexible with start/finish times depending on project requirements
Available for overtime and occasional weekend work when required
Strong safety awareness and work ethic
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is considered an asset:
- Hydrovac excavation
- Combination sewer flusher/vacuum trucksCatch basin cleaning
- Sewer and storm system flushing
- CCTV sewer inspection support
- Drilling mud/slurry removal
- Environmental or liquid waste hauling
- Municipal infrastructure work
- Construction and underground utilities
