We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Support Worker to assist an individual with their morning routine and transportation to their day program.

About the Individual:

The individual is friendly, non-verbal, and benefits from a patient, supportive, and consistent approach to care. They have some medical and mobility challenges and require assistance to ensure their safety and well-being.

Position: Part-Time Support Worker
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Starting Wage: $26.75 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

- Assist the individual with waking up and completing their morning routine.
- Provide personal care, dressing, and hygiene assistance.
- Prepare and assist with breakfast.
- Provide hands-on mobility assistance, including physical guidance, steadying, and support while walking and moving between areas.
- Assist with transfers and some lifting as required, using appropriate protected handling techniques.
- Monitor mobility and provide support to reduce the risk of falls.
- Drive the individual to their day program.
- Ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive start to their day.

Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be physically capable of providing hands-on mobility support, assisting with transfers, and performing some lifting as required.



The individual may be unsteady on their feet, so staff must be attentive and able to respond appropriately to mobility and fall-prevention needs. All physical assistance must follow safe handling practices and the individual’s care plan.

Requirements:

- Previous experience supporting non-verbal individuals is required.
- Experience supporting individuals with medical and mobility challenges is preferred.
- Ability to safely provide physical assistance and mobility support.
- Valid criminal record check.
- Valid driver’s licence and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate.

Pay: $26.75 per hour
