Originally founded as a Retail Bakery in Calgary, we have grown our business and transitioned to a Frozen Food Processing Plant that distributes our product throughout Canada and the United States. Golden Happiness Bakery Ltd. is seeking applicants for a Contract Quality Control Assistant. This is an entry level position. Candidates should have experience in a food processing industry. The ideal candidate will be a self starter with strong teamwork abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and duties of the Quality Control Assistant will include but not limited to:
- Responsible for monitoring GMP, HACCP and other food safety programs throughout the manufacturing process
- Responsible for process checks throughout production and packaging including per-operational audit, sanitation verification, and daily line audits.
- Verifies label compliance and packaging tare weights
- Initiates, traces and monitors product on QA Hold
- Conduct calibration of thermometer and other equipment
- Monitors processing control procedures, investigates food safety incidences and help in documenting and implementing corrective actions
- Assist during CFIA or third-party audits
- Can work with a flexible schedule in fast paced setting
- Proficient in data collection , entry, and reporting
- Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP principles and programs.
- Minimum 1 year QC experience in a Bakery or Food Processing Plant is considered an asset but not required
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook with a passion for accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn
- Bilingual – English/Chinese is considered an asset
