We are seeking an experienced, dependable and hands-on Maintenance Person to take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance, upkeep and general improvement of our 50-guest room hotel.
This is a varied, physically active position that requires someone who is mechanically inclined, resourceful and comfortable working independently. No two days are necessarily the same. Work ranges from routine preventative maintenance and building repairs to troubleshooting hotel equipment and technology, maintaining our indoor pool facilities, completing outdoor property projects and assisting with general property improvements.
The successful candidate will take ownership of daily maintenance operations, identify and address problems before they become costly repairs, maintain organized maintenance records and coordinate outside contractors when specialized work is required.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in hotel, building, facilities, property or a related environment.
- Broad practical repair skills, good mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of maintenance issues.
- Experience with pool maintenance.
Pool operator certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain electronic maintenance records and equipment documentation.
- Physically capable of performing manual work, lifting and moving equipment, furniture and supplies, and completing indoor and outdoor maintenance projects.
- Comfortable working independently, organizing daily priorities and coordinating contractors.
- Dependable, resourceful and able to adapt to changing maintenance needs.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Additional trade qualifications are an asset.
