We are looking for an Assistant Bakery Manager who is looking for the next challenge in their career to lead and develop a strong bakery team. Working as part of the production and sales team, you’ll manage the operations of the bakery to maximize sales, profitability and customer satisfaction. You will also implement systems and procedures into the bakery to achieve continuous improvement while training and developing bakery staff to achieve business objectives and staff progression.

Responsiblities

Manage and work as part of a small team, providing an exceptional product and customer experience.

Participate in day to day baking tasks.

Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean while adhering to OH&S; and safety standards

Plan for bakery operational and financial performance.

Achieve budgeted bakery sales targets through facilitation and promotion of marketing campaigns supporting the local community and individual staff performance.

Achieve budgeted bakery profitability through control of operating expenses.

Effectively manage administration processes for end of month, petty cash, payroll, and cash management including cash audits and stock take adhering to Company policies and procedures.

Follow and reinforce COBS Bread OH&S; and Food Safety Program requirements.

Manage team development through training, coaching, and reviewing the team’s performance including maintaining accurate employee records and documentation in accordance with HR policies and procedures.





Ensure product quality and range is to COBS Bread standards and delivered on time to meet customers demands.

Foster and encourage a positive workplace that promotes teamwork, mutual respect and high performers

Help with local community events and donation of bread as part of our ‘End of Day Giving’ program

Experience and Skills

You have 2+ years’ supervisory experience in a similar role in the baking industry

You are a great communicator, problem solver and critical thinker

You demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills in building camaraderie amongst the team

You are a capable people manager and leader with proven experience in recruitment and selection, retention, staff development and disciplinary and termination procedures

You have knowledge of financial management skills, including cash management and banking

You are experienced in computer tasks including email, word, excel, and data analysis

Physical Requirements

Continuous standing/ walking for all tasks

Constant use of both hands

Frequent lifting and carrying up to 7.5 kg., reaching below shoulder level, bending and turning

Occasional lifting and carrying up to 22 kg, pushing, pulling, crouching, bending and reaching above shoulder level

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
