Home Energy Advisor – Ottawa

We’re building our Ottawa sales team and looking for competitive, coachable, money-motivated people who want to build a meaningful, long-term career in high-ticket sales.

As a Home Energy Advisor, you’ll meet homeowners at appointments they’ve already booked. Your job is to show up prepared, build trust, assess their home’s comfort and energy needs, explain the right solution clearly, handle objections professionally, and close the sale. Average project value is about $24,000.

No HVAC experience needed. We train you on the equipment and the technical basics of how home heating, cooling, and energy systems work, plus the sales process, financing, and paperwork. Training is followed by four days of in-field shadowing with an experienced advisor.

What you'll sell

Furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, tankless water heaters, air-quality and water-treatment systems, smart battery storage, and insulation upgrades.

What you'll do

- Attend scheduled appointments across the Ottawa region
- Assess the homeowner’s current equipment and needs
- Present options, pricing, financing, warranties, and available incentives
- Handle questions and objections professionally
- Complete paperwork and update CRM notes after each appointment




- Follow up with customers when needed
- Represent the company with professionalism and integrity

Who can succeed in this role

People who are competitive, coachable, comfortable speaking face-to-face with homeowners, and motivated by performance-based income.
Above all, we're looking for people who see this as a long-term career, not a short-term job.

Preferred experience

No HVAC experience is required. Any B2C sales experience is a solid asset, including:

- Door-to-door sales
- Appointment setting
- Home improvement sales (roofing, windows, renovations, solar, water treatment)
- Automotive or telecom sales
- Real estate or mortgage sales
- Any other commission-based, customer-facing sales

Sales experience is preferred, but we'll consider highly coachable candidates with strong communication skills and a track record of performing well in other fields.

Compensation

This is a 100% commission, independent-contractor role. Commission is tiered, starts at 10%, and is paid on funded projects.

- Expected earnings: $80,000–$150,000 per year
- Top performers: $200,000+
- Four funded projects a month puts you at roughly an $80,000+ annual pace

Your earnings are based solely on your individual performance. There’s no cap on what you can make,



and full commission details are reviewed during the interview.

Schedule and territory

- Full appointment calendar, including evenings and Saturdays
- Territory: Ottawa, Cornwall, Brockville, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place, and surrounding communities
- Expect 100–200 km of driving on appointment days

Requirements

- Located in Ottawa or Eastern Ontario
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and a reliable vehicle
- Strong spoken English
