About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounting activities, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with management and other departments. Fluency in both English and French is required. Experience with QuickBooks is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments and adjusting entries.
- Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports and account reconciliations.
- Monitor expenses, investigate discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheet accounts and intercompany accounts, where applicable.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring and financial analysis.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards,



tax requirements and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, suppliers and customers in both English and French.

Qualifications and Requirements

- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting and account reconciliation.
- Experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
- Professional fluency in both English and French, written and spoken.
- QuickBooks experience is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
