The Position
We’re looking for an experienced press brake operator who can handle their own setups, produce accurate parts, and take ownership of their work. A good setup and a properly checked first part are essential to how we work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reading drawings and planning the tooling and bend sequence for each job.
- Setting up the press brake and creating or adjusting CNC programs as needed.
- Checking the first part against the drawing before running the batch—using calipers to verify dimensions and an angle gauge or square to check bends.
- Adjusting the setup until the part meets the required dimensions and tolerances.
- Measuring parts throughout production to maintain consistent quality.
- Operating a forklift safely to move materials and finished parts around the shop.
- Keeping finished parts identified and organized for the next operation.
- Flagging problems with drawings, materials, or tooling early.
- Following safe operating practices and keeping your work area organized.
You should have proven experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes with minimal supervision. You must be comfortable reading fabrication drawings, using measuring tools correctly, and adjusting for different materials and springback.
You must be able to operate a forklift safely and confidently. AMADA press brake experience is an asset.
