Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in delivering exceptional patient care. Duties
- Assist licensed pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
- Manage inventory, including stocking shelves and tracking medication supplies
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
- Prepare prescription labels and ensure accuracy in medication orders
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation
- Follow all safety protocols and comply with healthcare regulations and privacy standards
- Assist with medication reconciliation and review prescriptions for completeness and correctness
Qualifications
- Prior pharmacy or hospital experience an asset
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient care and safety
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Basic computer skills for record keeping and data entry
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare training or certification is a plus
