This Recreation Coordinator develops social, recreational, and therapeutic programs for persons in care. The work reflects functional, social, wellness, cultural, spiritual, and psycho-social needs. You will facilitate restorative activities, support basic living needs, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary community team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ functional, social, and wellness needs
- Develop engaging social, recreational, and therapeutic programs
- Facilitate restorative functional programs and activities
- Assist patients with social connections and falls prevention
- Attend team meetings as requested
Requirements:
- Diploma in recreation, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent
- One to three years of relevant experience
- Current First Aid and CPR C certification
- Robust planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Current criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen
Use recreation programming, restorative activities, and patient-centered communication to support seniors and frail elderly people at home.
