This experienced Safety Manager independently owns the safety function within a trucking environment. The work focuses on FMCSA compliance, driver behavior, operational risk, and continuous improvement. You will coordinate audits, investigations, training, policies, documentation, and safety performance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee fleet safety programs for DOT and FMCSA compliance
- Conduct audits, inspections, and root-cause incident investigations
- Enforce driver safety policies and compliance standards
- Track violations, incidents, scores, and improvement initiatives
- Partner with operations to reduce operational risk
Requirements:
- Three-plus years in transportation safety, fleet safety, or trucking compliance
- Solid DOT and FMCSA regulatory knowledge
- Experience in trucking or logistics environments
- Hands-on experience managing the safety function independently
- Audit, investigation, communication, and leadership experience
