An established public accounting firm in Oakville, Ontario, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Assurance and Audit team.
This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who wants to focus on assurance, financial reporting and audit engagements within public accounting. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise, work closely with clients and contribute to high-quality engagement delivery as part of a professional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and execute assurance and financial statement audit engagements
- Prepare and review working papers and supporting documentation
- Analyze financial statements and investigate accounting issues
- Apply relevant Canadian accounting and assurance standards
- Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve engagement queries
- Manage engagement timelines and deliver accurate, high-quality work
- Collaborate with colleagues to support client service and engagement completion
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in public accounting
- Strong background in assurance and audit
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting and financial reporting standards
- Experience preparing audit documentation and working papers
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client-service abilities
- Ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively
- CPA designation or progress toward the CPA designation preferred
