Maintain hotel systems in Ottawa as a Licensed Journeyman Mechanical Technician skilled in HVAC maintenance and welding. This is a full time position.

Fairmont Château Laurier seeks a licensed journeyman mechanic with at least seven years in the trade. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will maintain HVAC, laundry, kitchen, pump, fire-life, shop, and other facility equipment. The work requires welding, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, documentation, and guest-focused service. Previous hotel experience is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain fan coils, air handlers, exhaust, and makeup air units
- Perform MIG, TIG, stick, and gas welding
- Maintain laundry, kitchen, pumps, tools, and equipment
- Complete fire-life system tests and emergency diesel tests
- Respond courteously to repair requests throughout the facility

Requirements:

- Licensed journeyman mechanic with seven years’ trade experience
- Technical school graduation
- Working knowledge of basic HVAC systems
- OSHA workplace safety knowledge, including lockout-tagout procedures
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
