Organize library resources and support school learning as a Casual Library Technician with Niagara Catholic across Niagara locations. Availability is on call.
The Niagara Catholic District School Board seeks Casual Library Technicians for short and long term school coverage. This position serves students, teachers, and parents through resource location, cataloguing, circulation, and instructional support. Work varies as needed, Monday to Friday during elementary and secondary school hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, organize, and maintain diverse library material collections
- Locate resource information for students, teachers, and parents
- Process, circulate, shelve, repair, weed, and track materials
- Prepare displays, maintain inventory, and demonstrate equipment use
- Support teachers' instructional programs and professional development activities
Requirements:
- Library Technician Diploma or recognized equivalent qualification
- Three months' Dewey, AACR2, SEARS, and MARC experience
- Computer and audio-visual equipment knowledge and experience
- Positive interpersonal and artistic skills promoting library services
- Ability to travel throughout Niagara Catholic jurisdiction
