Position Overview

Title: Full-Time Security Supervisor

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $22.89/hr

Site: Scarborough Health Network

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Overview

Scarborough Health Network provides critical care across three full-service hospitals and community sites in the eastern Greater Toronto Area. Serving a diverse community of over 850,000 residents, the network delivers emergency care, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and rehabilitation services in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Provide direct leadership, direction, coaching, and training to in office security staff.
- Plan and implement shift schedules, manage team attendance, and ensure mandatory training is completed.
- Conduct proactive security patrols, respond efficiently to coded emergencies, and manage routine incident investigations.
- Ensure all shift activities, standing orders, and hospital security policies are strictly followed.
- Perform regular security audits and document complaints or security incidents.
- Maintain strong communication with the Client Service Manager regarding site operations.
- Provide supportive customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff experiencing stressful situations.

Must Haves

- At least 1 year of experience in healthcare security, with 2 years of overall healthcare security experience in a team lead role.
- Post-secondary education in a law enforcement or security program from a recognized college (e.g.,



Police Foundations Diploma).
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
- International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) certification.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's training prior to onboarding.
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods during 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to pass an N95 mask fit test (requires a clean-shaven face).
- Explicit Vulnerable Sector Check and up-to-date Immunization Record (including 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, varicella, and TB skin tests).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

- Demonstrated experience managing security operations in a multi-site hospital network.
