## Position Overview Title: Access Control Guard Employment Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.54/hr Site: London Health Sciences Centre – University Campus Schedule: Monday to Thursday (20:00 – 05:30) Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) ## Site Overview London Health Sciences Centre – University Campus is a major regional healthcare facility dedicated to patient care, research, and learning. In this post, you will support secure entry management within restricted hospital areas, maintaining controlled access points and ensuring a safe, welcoming workplace for healthcare staff, patients, and visitors. ## What You'll Be Doing
- Control entry and verify credentials for access to restricted hospital areas.
- Maintain and enforce site access control procedures, hospital policies, and safety standards.
- Monitor access points for security breaches, facility hazards, and irregular activity.
- Use tact, diplomacy, and communication skills to de-escalate emergency or crisis situations.
- Fairly and safely handle trespassers and unauthorized persons in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act.
- Use radio systems and computer software to log site activities and write detailed incident reports.
- Contact emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) when required and assist with emergency response procedures.
- Perform related duties as assigned to support overall site security. ## Must Haves
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid WSIB-approved First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's free pre-onboarding training (requires a 6-month commitment).
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including extensive standing and walking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct. ## Nice-to-Haves
- Post-secondary education in law enforcement, police foundations,
