About Us
Cookstown Pet Supplies and Grooming Inc. is an expanding local pet care business offering pet supplies, professional grooming services, and an exciting new outdoor dog training program. We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and certified dog trainer to help us launch and grow our dog training services at our Cookstown location. Our property offers approximately 4,000 square feet of outdoor space dedicated to developing a professional dog training program. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated trainer who wants to grow their client base without the expense of renting or maintaining their own training facility. Position Overview The successful candidate will provide professional dog training services, including private lessons and potentially small group classes. Please note: All training sessions will take place outdoors. We do not currently have an indoor training facility. Our company will handle customer inquiries, appointment bookings, scheduling coordination, payment collection, and marketing, allowing the trainer to focus on providing exceptional training services. Compensation – 50/50 Revenue Sharing

We offer
a straightforward commission-based arrangement: ● 50% of eligible training service revenue goes to the trainer. ● 50% goes to Cookstown Pet Supplies and Grooming Inc. ● No separate facility rental fees. ● Our company provides the outdoor training space. ● Our company handles customer bookings, payment collection, and marketing. ● The trainer provides their own professional training equipment and liability insurance. ● Flexible scheduling based on client demand and mutually agreed availability. Revenue-sharing calculations, payment schedules, cancellations, refunds,



and other terms will be established in a written agreement. This opportunity is intended as an independent contractor arrangement, subject to applicable Ontario laws. Responsibilities ● Conduct professional outdoor dog training sessions. ● Provide puppy training, basic obedience, leash training, recall, and socialization programs. ● Offer private lessons and potentially small group training classes. ● Develop customized training plans based on each dog’s needs. ● Educate dog owners on safe, effective, and humane training techniques. ● Maintain a safe, clean, and professional training environment. ● Communicate professionally with clients and company management. ● Assist in developing attractive training packages and programs. ● Follow all applicable animal welfare, safety, and municipal requirements. Requirements ● Recognized professional dog training certification is required, such as CPDT-KA, KPA CTP, IAABC credentials, or equivalent. ● Previous professional dog training experience. ● Valid commercial liability insurance covering professional dog training activities is required before starting. ● Experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. ● Strong communication and customer service skills. ● Commitment to humane, reward-based training methods.



● Ability to work independently and professionally. ● Willingness to conduct training sessions exclusively outdoors. ● Availability for scheduled appointments, including some weekends.
