Commercial Equipment Service Technician Halifax Regional Municipality, NS | Full-time Pay: Range based on experience Service Line is looking for a technician who enjoys figuring out why equipment stopped working and getting it running again. We service equipment used in restaurants, bars and cafés, including coffee and tea equipment, ice machines, ovens, toasters, fryers and dishwashers and more. You do not need to have worked on every type of restaurant equipment. We’re interested in someone with strong diagnostic and repair skills who can learn unfamiliar machines, identify the failed component, and make a reliable repair. What you’ll do
- Visit customer sites to diagnose equipment problems.
- Repair equipment or replace failed parts, then test your work before leaving.
- Read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical information to work through unfamiliar issues.
- Explain the problem and the repair clearly to customers.
- Record your findings, work completed, and parts used.
- Recognize when a job requires a different licensed trade or additional technical support.

What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical or electrical equipment. Experience in appliance repair, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical work, or equipment maintenance could be a valuable fit.
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting, rather than guessing and swapping parts.
- Comfort working independently at customer locations.
- Good communication, dependable follow-through, and a valid driver’s licence. Restaurant equipment experience is an asset, but it is not required. If you’re a capable service technician who likes varied work and wants to learn this industry, we’d like to hear from you.
