The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Construction Site Superintendent with a proven track record of delivering institutional construction projects, particularly K-12 schools, from initial project start-up through to substantial completion and final handover. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with the ability to take ownership of a project, manage multiple trades, coordinate subcontractors, and work closely with school districts, consultants, inspectors, and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Direct experience supervising the construction of K-12 schools from start to finish is required. - Read, interpret, and review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Supervise and coordinate all trades and subcontractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate site surveys and obtain final building survey certificates.
- Coordinate site inspections and testing while maintaining daily site housekeeping.
- Organize, chair, and document weekly trade coordination meetings and toolbox meetings.
- Complete quantity take-offs for required materials, obtain competitive pricing, and issue purchase orders as required.
- Receive and verify site deliveries, documenting shortages or damage as necessary.
- Review and manage shop drawings (SDs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Site Instructions (SIs), Change Directives (CDs), Change Orders (COs), and Commitment Change Orders (CCOs).
- Complete onboarding and offboarding documentation for site personnel.




- Lead site safety initiatives in accordance with WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Yellowridge's Safety Program.
- Complete Daily Diaries and weekly site safety inspection reports.
- Document and report injuries, incidents, and safety concerns.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, school district representatives, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Oversee project closeout, including deficiency management, commissioning coordination, occupancy requirements, and final handover. Qualifications
- Required: Proven experience as a Construction Site Superintendent on institutional projects, with direct experience supervising K-12 school construction from project start-up through completion and handover.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex school construction projects and coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, and quality control.
- Thorough knowledge of WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and construction site safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take ownership of a project, work independently, anticipate challenges, and proactively resolve site issues.
