Career Overview We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist and Laboratory Assistant for a part-time position at one of our 7 Windsor-Essex county locations. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate laboratory results, contributing directly to our company's mission of healthcare excellence. *this job posting is to support an active vacancy/vacancies Job Details We are seeking an experienced and motivated Microbiology Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our microbiology processing laboratory, ensuring high standards of laboratory quality, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and staff performance. The successful candidate must hold a valid Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) license or equivalent, strong microbiology laboratory experience, and demonstrate proven leadership and supervisory skills. This team-focused supervisor will spend approx. four days per week performing hands-on bench work and one day per week focused on administrative responsibilities, team leadership, staff management, quality assurance, and operational oversight. Critical thinking and strong problem solving





Key Responsibilities

· Oversee and ensuring safety and compliance of daily specimen processing, handling, preparation, storage, reporting, and workflow to uphold accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion in accordance with laboratory policies, Accreditations Canada, IQMH, and other governing bodies.
· Validation of results by reviewing abnormal, critical, and unexpected microbiological results, and decide when repeat testing, recollection, and reporting are required.
· Monitor workflow, troubleshoot operational and technical issues, and implement, recommend, or suggest corrective actions, as needed.
· Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning according to established requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory protocols. Ordering supplies, service, and equipment on an as needs basis.
· Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills by providing training, competency assessments, performance evaluations, ongoing coaching for team members while supporting staff schedules, coverage, and workload distribution.
· Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a clinical Microbiology laboratory or equivalent
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in team leadership
· Must hold a certification in Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Registered Microbiologist, and/or currently hold or working towards successfully obtaining required designation from the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).




· Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, or virology, proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), robust problem-solving skills, and adherence to bio-safety standards.
· Demonstrated understanding and application of IQMH, ISO or quality management principles or system with advanced computer proficiency on various internal platforms.
