## Position Overview Title: Full Time Security Guard Employment Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $19.63/hr Site: Guelph General Hospital Schedule: Continental Rotating (0800-2000 / 2000-0800 hrs) Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement after 88 Hours ## Site Overview Guelph General Hospital is a leading 24/7 acute care facility in Guelph, Ontario, featuring over 165 beds and supported by 1,600 staff members. Security personnel at this location play a vital role in maintaining a protected, respectful, and secure environment across a busy healthcare setting. ## What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, swiftly reporting suspicious activity.
- Control entry points to ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
- Act quickly during emergency situations, assisting hospital staff with crises and evacuations.
- De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Greet visitors, patients, and staff, offering directions and ensuring hospital policies are followed.
- Accurately document daily activities, incidents, breaches, and safety concerns.
- Collaborate closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to maintain a coordinated security effort. ## Must Haves
- Valid Security Guard License for the province of Ontario.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
- At least 1 year of experience in healthcare security or law enforcement.
- Fluency in English,



both oral and written.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Ability to maintain a clean-shaven face to pass an N95 mask fit test.
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, COVID-19 (two doses), and a two-step TB skin test.
- Ability to walk and climb stairs throughout the facility for extended periods of time.
- Valid certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
