Job Overview The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging mathematics instruction to secondary school students in Grades 8–12. The role focuses on developing students’ mathematical knowledge, critical thinking, confidence, and practical problem-solving skills. The teacher adapts instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs, encourages active classroom participation, and creates a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach mathematical concepts through clear explanations, practical examples, guided exercises, and interactive classroom activities.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, quizzes, and assessments aligned with the school curriculum and students’ learning objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes.
- Offer additional academic support and individualized instruction to students who require extra assistance, including students with diverse learning needs.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic achievement.
- Collaborate with other teachers, school administrators, counsellors, and support staff to support students’ academic development.
- Communicate students’ progress, achievements,



and learning challenges with colleagues and parents or guardians when appropriate.
- Incorporate technology, practical exercises, and interdisciplinary activities to make mathematics more accessible and relevant to everyday life. - Strong knowledge of mathematics and the ability to explain mathematical concepts effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan lessons, assess student performance, and manage a classroom.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and school staff. Preferred:
- Previous experience teaching mathematics at the secondary school level.
- Experience providing tutoring or individualized academic support.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and supporting students with special educational needs.
- Experience using educational technology and interactive teaching methods. Pay: From $33.25 per hour Expected hours: No less than 45.0 per week
