The company operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of a major global digital healthcare leader while maintaining an agile, high-growth setting. Role Overview Own the engineering function across iOS, Android, web, backend and the data and experimentation systems supporting a consumer subscription business. Set technical direction, lead a small team and remain close to architecture, code quality and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Set engineering priorities and connect investment to growth, retention, conversion and reliability.
- Assess the team’s capabilities, own hiring and performance management, and rebuild or strengthen the team where needed.
- Lead delivery across mobile, web and backend, balancing speed, quality and predictable execution.
- Introduce AI coding and engineering workflows into design, implementation, testing and release practices.




- Assess architecture, code quality and individual engineering output while coaching engineers and managers.
- Keep systems secure, reliable and cost-efficient.
- Partner with Product, Growth, Data and senior leadership to improve the consumer experience and business results. Qualifications
- At least eight years of relevant engineering leadership, with consumer mobile or subscription business experience.
- Direct accountability for an engineering team of approximately eight to fifteen people, including hiring, performance management and delivery.
- Experience assessing team capability, addressing performance issues and rebuilding an engineering organisation.
- Practical use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot or Claude.
- Technical breadth across mobile and backend systems sufficient to assess architecture and engineering quality.
- Experience as a startup CTO or technical founder, or a director or senior engineering manager with substantial independent ownership.
- Solid executive communication and the ability to take responsibility without detailed direction. Additional Experience
- Implemented AI engineering workflows that measurably improved team output or quality.
- Direct experience with consumer subscription apps on iOS or Android.
