Snow Removal Crew Member — *Pickup Truck Required* Maples YardWorks | Winnipeg, Manitoba Maples YardWorks is hiring dependable seasonal workers to help with residential and commercial snow removal throughout the winter. This is a casual, on-call opportunity with no guaranteed weekly schedule. It can work well for students, people with existing employment, or anyone looking to earn additional income during the winter months. Selected workers will be added to our private snow-removal group chat. When a snow event is approaching, we'll use the group to communicate upcoming work opportunities and coordinate staffing. What to Expect Before a significant snowfall, workers will typically receive information about the upcoming event, which may include:
- Forecasted snowfall and weather conditions
- Approximate start time
- Estimated shift length
- Service areas and routes You can review the information and let us know whether you're available. Please note that joining the group chat does not mean a specific number of hours or shifts is guaranteed. The amount of work available will depend on snowfall, customer demand, weather conditions and operational requirements. Duties May Include Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities could include:
- Clearing snow using shovels and snow blowers
- Operating approved snow-removal equipment
- Clearing walkways, entrances, driveways and other designated areas
- Applying salt or other ice-control materials when required
- Returning to locations for additional service when necessary
- Taking completion photos and submitting job updates
- Communicating with supervisors and other crew members
- Working respectfully around customers, vehicles and private property
- Following company safety procedures and instructions Pay $20–$30 per hour The exact rate will depend on factors such as:
- Type of assignment
- Amount and severity of snowfall
- Weather and site conditions
- Difficulty of the work
- Experience and qualifications
- Staffing requirements Snow-removal work can take place at various times depending on the weather and customer requirements. Shifts may occur:
- Early morning
- During the day
- Evening
- Weekends Actual start and finish times may change depending on snowfall and conditions at the properties being serviced. Ideal Candidate We're looking for people who are:

- Able to commit to shifts after accepting them A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation may be required depending on the assignment. Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
