Position Summary Apple Express is seeking a Transportation Compliance Specialist to support transportation operations through compliance monitoring, documentation management, service-provider orientation, and the verification of applicable safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements. This role works closely with internal transportation teams and independent contractor service providers to maintain compliance standards, support operational excellence, and ensure required documentation remains accurate and current. The successful candidate will play a key role in compliance verification, field assessments, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering professional relationships with transportation service providers.

What You'll Do
Transportation Compliance & Field Assessments
- Conduct scheduled field observations and authorized ride-along assessments, where appropriate.
- Verify compliance with applicable transportation safety regulations, operational standards, and contractual service requirements.
- Review and document observations related to transportation safety, delivery procedures, and service expectations.
- Identify potential compliance gaps and communicate findings to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate, objective field assessment reports and supporting documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance transportation compliance and service consistency. Compliance Documentation Management
- Verify and maintain compliance records for independent contractor service providers.
- Monitor and track required documentation including licences, insurance certificates, vehicle records, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate requests for updated documentation as required under service agreements.
- Maintain organized compliance files to support audits, reviews, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or expired documentation and follow established escalation procedures.
- Support ongoing service-provider eligibility verification processes. Service Provider Orientation & Information Sharing
- Coordinate orientation programs for newly engaged independent contractor service providers.
- Provide information regarding Apple Express service expectations, safety requirements, contractual obligations, and documentation standards.
- Facilitate awareness of customer requirements, communication protocols, and operational procedures.
- Maintain records of orientation activities and distributed materials.
- Support additional training and information sessions when regulations, customer requirements,



or service standards change. Service Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with independent contractors regarding compliance requirements and operational information.
- Support Transportation teams in coordinating service-provider availability and commitments.
- Communicate updates related to customer requirements, service specifications, and compliance procedures.
- Foster skilled and respectful communication between service providers and internal operational teams.
- Direct service-related inquiries to the appropriate internal departments for resolution. Compliance Reporting & Escalation
- Document compliance concerns, operational discrepancies, and reported incidents using factual and objective reporting methods.
- Review available information and determine when further verification or assessment may be required.
- Escalate unresolved compliance concerns and potential contractual breaches to designated management personnel.
- Maintain detailed records of compliance reviews, investigations, and outcomes.
- Assist with compliance reporting, audit preparation, and operational decision-making support. Regulatory & Safety Compliance
- Stay informed regarding transportation legislation, safety regulations, and industry requirements.
- Support internal compliance reviews and regulatory audits.

- Strong understanding of transportation, logistics, fleet compliance, or regulatory compliance practices.
- Familiarity with transportation safety requirements, driver qualifications, and vehicle documentation.
- Knowledge of applicable Ontario transportation regulations.
- Ability to conduct objective compliance reviews and field assessments.
- Strong documentation management and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic record management systems.

- Previous experience in transportation, logistics, fleet compliance, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with transportation safety requirements, driver documentation, and vehicle compliance standards.
- Experience working with independent contractors, owner-operators, or third-party transportation service providers is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic filing systems.
- Valid driver's licence.
