Lynx Brand Fence Products Alta Ltd. has been a trusted name in fencing across Western Canada since 1974. We are looking for a full-time welder to join our Calgary fabrication shop. We want hard-working, honest people with a great work ethic who take pride in quality work. Journeyperson / Red Seal welders are strongly preferred, and apprentices with solid experience are also welcome to apply. Fencing or construction experience is an asset but not required. Pay is based on experience and the interview process. Essential Functions:
- Weld, cut, measure and fit materials to fabricate fencing products, including gates, custom posts and other fence fittings
- Read and work from shop drawings, specifications and work orders
- Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy and fit
- Set up, operate and maintain welding and shop equipment
- Keep the work area free of debris and clean all equipment and tools
- Work safely at all times and attend all tool box and safety meetings

Qualifications:

- Journeyperson Welder certificate (Alberta or Red Seal) strongly preferred
- Experience with GMAW, FCAW and SMAW processes
- Experience fabricating with structural steel, pipe and tubing is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work Skills & Abilities: This position requires working from detailed instructions and making some independent decisions. You must be able to read,



analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. You must also be able to use common sense to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is mostly indoors in the shop, with occasional outdoor work in various types of weather. Duties involve reaching with hands and arms, climbing, kneeling, crouching, talking and listening.
