Alpha’s Bilingual Childcare is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated French-speaking Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to join our team in Oshawa, Ontario. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where children can learn, grow, and develop through play and exploration. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young children and enjoys supporting their development in a bilingual environment. Job Responsibilities
- Assist Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.
- Support children's physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and language development.
- Encourage French language development through conversations, songs, stories, games, and daily routines.
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Assist with daily routines, including meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and rest periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, independence, and social skills.




- Follow the centre's policies and procedures and applicable Ontario child care legislation.
- Communicate professionally with parents, educators, and management.
- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities, including active play and neighbourhood walks when required. Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting is an asset.
- Fluency in French is required; proficiency in English is preferred.
- Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) training or relevant childcare experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification, or willingness to obtain it, as required for the position.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check and other required employment documentation.
- Knowledge of Ontario childcare regulations and health and safety practices is an asset.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- A patient, caring, reliable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team while supporting children's individual needs.
