Project Manager Job Overview Ace Build Contracting is seeking a highly experienced, organized, and results-driven Construction Project Manager to oversee residential construction projects throughout Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for a skilled professional with extensive hands-on experience in residential construction, preferably someone who has previously worked with established home builders, general contractors, or design-build companies. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of construction methods, site supervision, project scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control. This is a hands-on, field-focused position requiring regular job site supervision, strong leadership abilities, and the confidence to independently manage construction projects from start to completion. Position Summary The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily job site operations, supervising subcontractors and trades, coordinating construction activities, and ensuring projects are completed according to approved drawings, established budgets, schedules, and quality standards. The successful candidate must have practical construction experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of residential building processes. We are seeking a professional who can take full ownership of assigned projects, proactively address challenges, maintain organized job sites, and ensure construction activities progress efficiently without requiring constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and supervise daily construction activities across multiple residential job sites.
- Manage custom home construction, home additions, full home renovations, and other residential projects from initial construction through final completion.
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, safety, and overall project quality.
- Ensure construction activities follow approved architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Develop, manage, and maintain construction schedules to ensure projects remain on track.
- Monitor project budgets, labour requirements, material usage, and construction expenses.
- Identify potential delays, construction deficiencies, or site issues and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure required materials and equipment are available when needed.




- Communicate regularly with management regarding project progress, schedules, outstanding work, and site conditions.
- Coordinate municipal inspections and ensure required approvals are obtained at appropriate construction stages.
- Review subcontractor work to ensure compliance with project specifications and company quality standards.
- Maintain organized site documentation, daily progress reports, inspection records, and project updates.
- Address construction-related issues and coordinate solutions with architects, engineers, designers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor change orders, additional work, and modifications to project scope.
- Ensure job sites remain organized, safe, and compliant with applicable health and safety requirements.
- Conduct final walkthroughs, identify deficiencies, and coordinate their timely correction.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and provide project updates when required.
- Ensure all assigned projects are delivered with strong attention to workmanship, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in residential construction project management, site supervision, or a similar leadership position.
- Proven experience supervising active construction sites and managing subcontractors and trades.
- Strong background in residential construction, including custom homes, additions, and major renovations.
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, building materials, structural components, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules, project budgets, and multiple subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code requirements and residential construction practices.
- Experience coordinating municipal building inspections and addressing inspection-related deficiencies.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions on active job sites.

- Previous project management or site supervision experience working directly with custom home builders, residential developers, or established general contracting companies.
- Experience overseeing ground-up custom home construction from excavation and foundation through framing, mechanical installations, interior finishes, and final occupancy.
- Strong background managing large-scale residential renovations, structural modifications, and home additions.
- Experience coordinating multiple active residential construction projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience as a Site Superintendent, Construction Supervisor, or Residential Construction Project Manager.
- Knowledge of Ontario construction health and safety regulations and site safety procedures.
- Experience coordinating with architects, structural engineers, municipal inspectors, and building officials.
- Strong understanding of subcontractor management, construction costs, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Experience managing project deficiencies, client walkthroughs, and final project handovers.
