I’ve spent more than 10 years helping couples bring their wedding days to life across the Kootenays. I’m looking for someone who enjoys working with people, notices the little details, and can stay calm and kind when the day gets busy. The role begins in December 2026. You’ll start by learning how we work, supporting me with planning and coordination, and joining me at weddings. As you gain experience, you’ll begin taking the lead with your own clients, with the goal of doing so starting in mid-2027. You’ll have guidance as you build confidence, and a Kootenay Wedding Company team member will be with you at the weddings you coordinate. What you’ll do
- Get to know couples and help bring their plans, priorities, and personalities into the details of their day
- Keep in touch with clients and help them feel informed and supported
- Create and update wedding timelines, checklists, and coordination notes
- Communicate with vendors and confirm arrival times, setup plans, and wedding-day details
- Attend rehearsals and help the wedding party understand where to go and what to expect
- Coordinate setup, décor, and event logistics
- Be a friendly, steady point of contact for couples, guests, vendors, and venue staff on the wedding day
- Handle unexpected changes with a calm, practical approach

- Have experience in weddings, events, hospitality, customer service, or another role where organization and people skills matter
- Are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking initiative
- Communicate clearly and warmly with different kinds of people
- Can stay composed and flexible when plans change
- Enjoy hands-on work, including being on your feet and helping with setup
- Can commit to working at least two weekends per month from April through September 2027
- Understand that wedding weekends typically include Friday and Saturday, and sometimes Sunday for the trip home
- Are excited to learn and grow into a role where you’ll take responsibility for your own clients Some weddings involve travel within the Kootenays and surrounding areas. Gas is paid for, and hotel accommodations are provided when overnight stays are needed for work travel. Previous wedding planning experience is welcome, but it isn’t required if you bring the right attitude, strong organizational skills, and a real interest in helping couples. This is a paid position starting in December 2026. The first part of the role will focus on training and working alongside me. The plan is for you to begin taking the lead with your own clients in mid-2027, with a KWC team member alongside you at the wedding.
